The New York State Office of Court Administration (OCA) provides a New York Statewide criminal history record search (CHRS) for a fee of $55.00. Effective, July 1, 2010, OCA’s Criminal History Record Search fee is increased to $65.00 for each search. The search criteria is strictly based on exact match of Name and DOB (variations of Name or DOB are not reported.) The search results are public records relating to open/pending and convictions of criminal cases originating from County/Supreme, City, Town and Village courts of all 62 counties. California Courts Affected by Budget Cuts UPDATE ON CA COURT CLOSURES (7/28/2010): Courts in California were mandated to have furloughs which caused court closures throughout the state. While many of these court furloughs ended in July, Orange and Los Angeles courts will continue their closures every 3rd Wednesday until further notice. In addition, Santa Cruz courts will close every 4th Friday until further notice. Since several courts have not responded with certainty regarding the court closures, ESR will inform clients of any changes or updates. Many courts throughout the U.S. are closed or delayed due to budget cuts. In California, there are going to be periodic court closures. This will delay completion of background check reports for all employers in California. The next California Court closure is: SEE BELOW. NOTICE ON CA COURT CLOSURES: The one-day-a-month mandated closures for all 58 superior courts statewide in CA, on the third Wednesday of each month, are slated to end Wednesday, June 16, 2010. As a result, monthly court closures may end in July 2010 in certain CA counties. However, the 2010-2011 judicial budget for CA is currently under review and the state's budget will probably not adopted before the next fiscal year begins July 1, 2010.
